The blue-collar North Sacramento natives return with a joint EP that perfectly captures the state capital’s unique hip-hop diversity

Sacramento is one of our more unassuming state capitals in the country. It’s a true working-class city, complete with significance in American history (word to the first railroad) and a terrible NBA team.

Far from the glamour of Los Angeles but an hour outside of the Bay Area, Sacramento sits oddly between the two distinct sounds of West Coast hip-hop music.

Though the City of Trees is associated with the Bay Area because of geography, true Sactown natives know and will let you know that they’re not The Bay.

It’s The Valley. And in The Valley lies a bevy of…

If you’re a sports fan, even a casual one, consider joining or creating a fantasy league

Does fantasy basketball piss you off the way it does me? No? Fair enough.

I mean, it’s not even real, it’s in the name. So why am I getting so worked up about it?

The truth is that I’m obsessed. The stiff competition, the idea of building a dream roster to take to the championship, immense bragging rights. It’s all there. But like the pros, fantasy sports can be a frustrating mix of lopsided teams and an unfair system.

With that said, sports fans, even casual ones, should do at least one season of fantasy sports.

One of the greatest profiles I’ve ever read. Freddie Gibbs is awesome. One of, if not THE, best rappers working, always has been. Now he’s Grammy-nominated!

Turns out, he’s going to be just fine.

The Polytickin’ Podcast has been in the making for the better part of four years. The first two spent tinkering with different ideas while fitting in hours of research. The latter half spent applying that research into what would become this little show.

My brother Sefa and I came together through our years-long friendship and a mutual love of podcasts. We understood their immense, ever-growing reach. With this reach, the potential to raise awareness of the goings-on in our unique community for anyone curious enough to give us a chance.

When we uploaded our first episode, there weren’t many, if…

Studies show that it costs nothing to return your cart. Go figure

Every team member and sales associate for a retail/big box franchise is familiar with this scene: a customer pulls up to their check lane with a loaded cart and terrible attitude. All merchandise is scanned, bagged, and placed back inside.

The customer pays, a receipt is printed and snatched away in unprovoked frustration. The team member expects the guest to wheel their goods into a waiting car.

Instead, two hands reach for the bags to carry them out, abandoning the cart altogether. A now irritated cashier has to move it out the way of an incoming guest. …
